    - Introduce the activity.
    - Play the song for students to listen.
    - Play the song for students to listen and sing in
    chorus.
    - Invite a few groups to the front of the class to
    sing the song. The class may sing along and
    clap to reinforce the activity.
    - Praise the students if they sing well.
    - Tell students what they will learn in this
    lesson.
    II. ACTIVITY 1 (10 minutes)
    * Listen and tick. (Track 56)
    + Objectives: To help the students listen to and
    understand five communicative contexts and
    tick the correct pictures.
    + Procedures
    - Ask students to look at the pictures and
    describe the picture in each option.
     How many pictures are there?
     What can you see in each picture?
    - Play the recording for students to listen all the
    way through.
    - Play the recording again for students to tick
    the correct pictures.
    - Get students to swap their books with a
    partner and then check answers as a class. Write
    the correct answers on the board.
    - Play the recording the third for the students to
    double-check their answers.
    - Extension: If time allows, play the recording,
    sentence by sentence, for the class to listen to
    and repeat the dialogues. Correct their
    pronunciation if necessary.
    - Praise students if they do the exercise well.

    + Objectives: To help the students ask and
    answer questions using picture cues.
    + Procedures
    - Draw students' attention to the first picture.
    Get them to look at the clock to identify the
    time shown on it. Check students'
    comprehension.
    - Draw students' attention to Question 1. Have
    students look at the clock in the picture to
    answer the question.
    - Repeat Steps 1 and 2 with the rest of the
    questions.
    - Have students work in pairs to role-play the
    four exchanges. Go around the classroom to
    monitor the activity.
    - Extension: Invite pairs of students to stand up
    and take it in turns to role-play the target
    exchanges.
    - Praise students if they perform well.
    * FUN CORNER AND WRAP-UP (5
    minutes)
    Game: “Spin the wheel”
    - Tell students how the game is played. Give an
    example.
    - Divide the class into 3 groups.
    - Use the pictures in Activity 2, page 40. Stick a
    picture on the board. Ask two students from
    each group to ask and answer questions about
    the picture.
    - If they have the correct answers, they get the
    points for their groups by spinning the wheel. If
    the answer is not correct, the other group has a
    turn.
    - The group with the most points is the winner.
    Praise the winner.

    cues. Check comprehension.
    - Write the sentence with the first gap on the
    board. Read the sentence as a class. When you
    reach the gap, ask students to point at the
    picture (the American flag) and encourage
    students to say the name of the country
    (America). Give students time to write the
    answers.
    - Repeat Step 2 for the other gaps.
    - If time allows, invite a few students to read
    the sentences they have completed aloud in
    front of the class. The class observes and
    praises their work.

    Game: “Noughts and crosses”
    - Divide the class into 2 groups (Group X and

    following sentences. If he/ she answers
    correctly, teacher will click on the
    corresponding symbol of the group (X or O).
    - The group who wins this game gets three of
    your symbols in a row horizontally, vertically
    or diagonally.
    - Praise the winner. Give feedback

    word Russia. Get them to look at the flags of
    Thailand, America and Russia, elicit the right
    answer and tick it (Picture a). Repeat the same
    procedure with Question 2.
