    sing the song. The class may sing along and
    clap to reinforce the activity.
    - Praise the students if they sing well.
    - Tell students what they will learn in this
    lesson.
    II. ACTIVITY 1 (10 minutes)
    * Listen and tick. (Track 101)
    + Objectives: To help the students listen to and
    understand five communicative contexts in
    which characters talk about familiar topics such
    as our school, our timetables, my favourite
    subjects, our sports day, and our summer
    holidays, and tick the correct pictures.
    + Procedures
    - Ask students to look at the pictures and
    describe the picture in each option.
     How many pictures are there?
     What can you see in each picture?
    - Play the recording for students to listen all the
    way through.
    - Play the recording again for students to tick
    the correct pictures.
    - Get students to swap their books with a
    partner and then check answers as a class. Write
    the correct answers on the board.
    - Play the recording the third for the students to
    double-check their answers.
    - Extension: If time allows, play the recording,
    sentence by sentence, for the class to listen to
    and repeat the dialogues. Correct their
    pronunciation if necessary.
    - Praise students if they do the exercise well.

    - Draw students' attention to the first question.
    Get the class to read it in chorus. Elicit the
    answer and give feedback. Then get students to
    role-play the exchange. Repeat the same
    procedure with the rest of the questions.
    - Give students time to take it in turns to roleplay the four exchanges. Go around the
    classroom to offer support where necessary.
    - Invite a few pairs of students to stand up and
    take it in turns to role-play the target
    exchanges.
    - Praise students if they perform well.
    * FUN CORNER AND WRAP-UP (5
    minutes)
    Game: “Lucky number”
    - Tell students how the game is played. Give an
    example.
    - Divide the class into two groups.
    - Have each group stand in a line.
    - Prepare some cards (using pictures related to
    the questions in Activity 2, page 74) with points
    on their backs from 1 to 20 and put them in a
    box.
    - Have each student pick a card from the box
    and talk about the content of it.

    * Board game. Roll a dice. Listen and

    + Objectives: To help the students revise the
    target vocabulary and sentence patterns by
    playing Board game.
    + Procedures
    - Lead the game for the whole class. Divide the
    class into four groups. Determine which group
    goes first, second, third and fourth.
    - Have each group roll the dice in turn. A
    member of each group moves the group's
    counter forward by the number of spaces
    indicated by the dice.
    - When a counter lands on a space with a
    picture, ask the corresponding question below.
    If the group gives a correct answer, their
    counter stays on the space. If they do not give a
    correct answer, their counter must be moved
    back two spaces and their turn ends. Explain
    that there are some spaces with instructions
    such as Go back one space, Move ahead one
    space and Miss a turn. When landing on these
    spaces, the instructions must be followed.
    Check comprehension.
    - The game continues until one or all groups
    reach the “Finish” space.
    - Extension: Write the questions on the board.
    Have students sit in groups of three or four and
    repeat Steps 1-4 to play individually.
    - Praise students if they do the game well.
    * Questions and instructions:
    1. Where's his school?

    - Divide the class into two groups: Boys and
    Girls.
    - Have students take turns choosing the box and
    answer the question.
    + What subjects do you have today?
    + When do you have (art)?
    + Where were you last summer?
    + Is your sports day in (April)?
    - Ask students to look at the pictures and
    answer the questions. If they have the correct
    answers, they get one point for their groups. If
    the answer is not correct, the other group
    answers and gets points.
    - Group with the most points is the winner.
    Praise the winner.

    STUDENTS' ACTIVITIES

    - Work in two groups.
    - Take turns choosing the box and answer the
    question.

    - Look at the pictures and answer the questions.
    If they have the correct answers, they get one
