- Context b: Mai telling Ben about her
brother's favourite school activity

- Ask students to look at Pictures a and b and
the characters and say what they can see in the
pictures.

Game: “Pass the book”
- Give two different coloured teddy bears to
two students, a black teddy bear (ask the
question)
and a white teddy bear (answer the question).
- Ask students to listen to music and pass the
teddy bears.
- Stop music suddenly. Have the student with a
black teddy bear ask a question. Have the
student with a white teddy bear answer the
question.
E.g. Student A: What school activity does she
like?
Student B: She likes doing projects.
- Repeat the game several times.
- Praise students if they play the game well.

STUDENTS' ACTIVITIES

independently. Go around the classroom to

STUDENTS' ACTIVITIES

- Look at the pictures and identify what they
can see in each picture.
- Listen to and repeat the words under the
pictures in chorus and individually until they
feel confident.
- Listen to and repeat the sentences in both
bubbles a few times.

- Follow the teacher's instructions. Practise
asking and answering questions in pairs.
- Act out the exchanges in front of the class.

- Speech bubbles:
What school activity does he / she like? - ....
Why does he / she like ...? - ....
- Draw students' attention to the picture in
Activity 3. Ask questions to help them identify
what each student is doing.
 What can you see in the picture?
- Elicit the missing words in the speech bubbles
and write them on the board. Get students to
say the completed sentences.
- Put students in groups of four to ask and
answer about why someone likes a school
activity. Go around the classroom to offer
support where necessary.
- Invite some pairs to practise asking and
answering questions about why someone likes a
school activity in front of the class and correct
their pronunciation where necessary.
- Give encouragement to the students'
performance.

Game: “Pass the balls”
- Give two different coloured balls to two
students, a red ball (ask the question) and a
yellow ball (answer the question).
- Ask students to listen to music and pass the
balls.
- Stop music suddenly. Have the student with a
red ball ask a question. Have the student with a
yellow ball answer the qu...
