I. WARM UP (5 minutes)
* Game: “Kim's game”

+ Objectives: To help the students review the
vocabulary about different things.
+ Procedures
- Explain how the game is played. Give an
example.
- Display the words face up on the board. Give
students one minute to memorize their set.
- Divide the class into two groups. Do not
allow students to write anything down.
- Show the set of cards for 30 seconds. Then
cover them again. In their groups, the students
try to write down many words as they can
remember.
- Check the answers as the class.
- The group with the most correct words wins

- Draw students' attention to the picture in

- Stick the cards on the board. Ask students to
say the words related to the cards.
- Hand out the cards to different students

- Play the song What school activities does she
like? (Unit 7). Ask students to pass the cards to
the students next to them while the music is
playing.
- Stop the music suddenly. Invite a student to
ask the question Where are the pens? Ask the
student who is holding the card to answer the
question, e.g. It's in front of the clock.
- Play the music again and repeat the activity.
- Ask students to check their friends'
pronunciation.
- Praise students if they perform well.

- Work in in groups of four to ask and answer
about the locations of school things.

* Game: “Run and write”
The pencils are beside the book.
The erasers are under the desk.
The pictures are above the window.
The pens are in front of the clock.
+Objectives: To help the students review the
vocabulary and sentence patterns about the
locations of school things.
+ Procedures
- Explain how to play the game. Give an
example.
- Stick some sentences on the walls in the class.
- Have students work in pairs. Ask one student
to run and find the sentences around him/ her,
then turn back to his pair and tell what he/ she
has seen, e. g. “The pencils are beside the
book.”. Ask his/ her friend to write down the
sentence he/ she has heard.
- The pair with the most correct sentences will
win. Praise the winner.
- Tell students what they will learn in this
lesson.
II. ACTIVITY 1 (8 minutes)
* Listen and tick or cross. (Track 78)
+ Objectives: To help the students listen to and
understand two communicative contexts about
the locations of school things and tick or cross
the correct pictures.

identify the names of the school things and
their locations.

- Play the recording for students to listen all the
way through.

- Give the first group to make a correct
sentence at one point.
- The group with more points wins the game.
Praise the winner.
